Sharing Among Believers: Day #28
Generosity and hospitality have long been touchstones of a good heart. Paul isn’t making a command here. No, In the passage above Paul tells of a remarkable generosity. It was self-sacrificial. We don’t’ share simply to feel better about ourselves, but to encourage other’s trust in the provision of God. This means taking the blessing we’ve received and looking for places where there is need, so we might serve those who God has given us opportunity to serve. Not just with money, but also with time. What areas in the community around us, locally or globally might God be calling us to serve as we have been served in the past?
Father, you know our needs, help us find ways to bless others even when we have needs unmet. Let those who have blessed us be blessed all the more to serve as a glory for your name’s sake. We pray this in Christ’s name. Amen.
