#4: Jonah - Dealing With Disappointment
Jonah had it easy. He was a prophet; respected in a nation he loved. His life made sense… until it didn't. When God came to him with an unexpected request and asked him to go to a place he never wanted to go; to a people he despised. Jonah had reasons logical ones, earthly ones, reasonable ones. Yet God saw through different eyes and had different plans. You see, God wasn't just calling Jonah; he was preparing to move an entire city. First Jonah had to let go of comfort, he had to let go of his own plans. Maybe you're in that place; comfortable and settled. However, God is tapping you on your shoulder and calling you where you would never want to be.
What if your yes unlocks freedom and joy for “Those people.” Yes, it will be difficult, it will probably stretch you, and maybe it will even hurt a little, But God often works through our pain and obedience to bring better lives for others in some unexpected ways.

What happens to our attitude and faith when things don’t go the way we think they should? Has God let us down, does He have something different in mind or were our plans not in line with what He wanted to happen? From fear, excitement and frustration, Jonah experienced a variety of emotions as he brought God’s message to the city of Nineveh.
