Go Lead: Day #4
One of the three key areas of focus over this 3-year initiative is the area of leadership development. John Maxwell writes, “Leadership is influence – nothing more, nothing less.” God’s word is filled with epic stories of individuals who demonstrated strong and poor leadership. From the Patriarchal Leadership examples in the Torah, through the last pages of Revelation, God gives wisdom in how to lead. Although the earliest disciples didn’t have leadership books and Global strategic conferences, they did learn their lessons of leadership from having spent time with Jesus.
Over the next 3-years, we seek to be guided by the Holy Spirit to be strategic and intentional about creating a “leadership community” and pouring into existing and future leaders at Adventure. We want to ask hard questions about how we serve the church and the community, and how we can have a bigger and more godly influence in the world around us.
The way we’ll measure success in this area is that EVERY believer at Adventure will impact the church and community with God-honoring influence. This means wherever we work, in the community or in the church, we see to it that the task God has given us is finished.
Father, thank you for the unique influence that you have given each of us. Help us to live for you, and to reflect your character. Empower us today, to lead well and may we all honor you in all that we do and all that we say. Help our church create a culture of healthy, strong, and vibrant leadership. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
