God on the Go: Day #1

Sep 10, 2023    Devotion Leader

In one of my favorite children’s Book, The Chronicles of Narnia: The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe, we read of four children who have an adventure in a wardrobe. They arrive one day in a world covered in snow and dominated by an evil queen and in an endless winter. As I am currently reading this to my children, I recently reflected on what that would have been like. Have you ever felt that way? Like the world is stuck on repeat? Have you felt like it’s not supposed to be this way? As the children explore, they hear of this Great lion named Aslan. The phrase “Aslan is on the Move” has a particular impact on the children in the book. We believe God is on the move at Adventure. He is trying to do something in all our lives. As we begin these 45 days of Prayer, ask yourself some honest questions about your life. What would it look like for God to be working in your life? What sorts of ends is he already working to accomplish? What is holding me back?

Father in heaven, as we set out on this adventure together, restore our hearts and minds so that we can see, so that we can hear, so that we can know when you are on the move in our lives. Help us to see the difference between us planning our ways and you directing our feet. We want to follow you and your son. We acknowledge that he is our hope and our Guide. Keep our feet as we walk. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
