Play Sports.

Find your Purpose.

Sports are an important part of life to most kids and families. It's an outlet for many to strive to achieve something bigger than themselves. Sports help individuals mold their character into a more disciplined and focused person.

Sports help you discover more about yourself and others through competition. Coaches have the ability to speak life into you when other may not be able to.

From Youth to Adult Sports

Not only is excercise for your health, but community building and fellowship are key aspects of sports! From youth to adults, our sports programs provide environments to gather and form new and encouraging friendships.

Sports create opportunities to be a part of a team and to improve yourself as an individual in the community. The biblical principles of fellowship is at play in our sports programs.

The Values That Sports Teach Us:

Discipline

When you want to improve or make change,
repetition is key. In order to stay on path, discipline is essential.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.
Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Hebrews 12:11 [NIV]

Perseverance

When life gets tough and a situation knocks you down, it is perseverance that will get you back up to try again and reach your destination.

"Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."  James 1:4

Character Formation

Coaches have a unique ability to speak into the life of their athletes. They help develop character traits and can speak in ways that others may not be able to.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings,
because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Romans 5:3-4 [NLT]

Teamwork

Learning how to work within a team is one of the greatest life skills an athlete can acquire from sports. Learning about others and working together to reach a common goal is essential in sports and in life.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."
Proverbs 27:17 [NIV]

Leadership

Leadership is at the crux of team sports.
It takes listening to your leader (the coach), and becoming your own leader for yourself, and your teammates.

"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity."1 Timothy 4:12 [NIV]

Sacrifice

Nobody has ever accomplished anything great without a great deal of sacrifice. Sports teach you to sacrifice your time, comfort, and leisure time for the greater good of improving yourself and the team.

"Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 20:28 [NIV]

#3.) Do you have to be religious/Christian to be a part of Adventure Athletics?

No, you do not have to be. However, before and after every practice and game, we pray.  At the beginning of every practice and game, we strive to  talk about a “Word of the Week”. These change every week throughout the season, but include topics like Kindness, Grace, Patience, Faith, Effort, etc.

We talk about these key fundamentals by tying them back to the Bible while also relating them to sports and outside of sports. Our goal is to teach your children early the important fundamentals of life, raise them to be strong in their faith, and teach them about the sport.

#4.) What makes Adventure Athletics Different?

We are different than the local YMCA, park district, or travel league because we not only focus on your child's development throughout the sport season, but also their spiritual development.

We strive to teach the kids the key fundamentals of life, while  using sports to teach them about Jesus.

We believe by introducing these topics young, it can help raise them into strong and faithful adults.
