#2 - The Weeds In My Garden (Intro - Part #2)
This weekend, we’re continuing our new summer message series called “The Weeds in My Garden.” Just like weeds in a garden, God’s word teaches us that as we follow Jesus, there’s some stuff in our lives that creeps up that doesn’t belong there!
Paul writes about some of this in Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices. Colossians 3:5-9
In this series, we’ll have a chance to take an honest assessment of our walk with Jesus. If we are going to follow God radically and love others courageously, then we’ll need to uproot those things that don’t belong!
