The Weeds In My Garden - August 6, 2023

This week, we continue the “Weeds in My Garden” series with a message entitled “The Thorn in my Pride.” Pride is a difficult thing to master. Too often in our story, we are guilty of building ourselves up and making us look like the hero. We disguise our true self, by presenting an “edited” story or image of our self that is airbrushed, polished and refined. People see what we want them to see.

The Bible addresses pride in many places, and it is often said that Pride is the root of all sin.

This weekend, as Pastor Andy teaches us from 2 Corinthians 12,

we’ll learn that Paul is writing to the Corinthians Christians from a place of incredible vulnerability and he’s struggling with a thorn in his flesh. From that, he teaches the importance of humility, the opposite of pride.
